Connect your AI assistant to Ithil
Last updated: November 5, 2026
What it is
The Ithil AI connector is a read only connector. It lets a person ask their own AI assistant about the Ithil data their role can already read. That includes work orders, assets, inspections, RFIs, punch list items, service requests and projects. The assistant can also search for records and fetch a record by its identifier.
Who can use it
Commercial organizations. An Admin turns it on in Settings, under AI connector. It is off by default.
Organizations on a federal template, or that hold CUI, cannot turn it on. The connector refuses them.
Setup
- An Admin turns the connector on in Settings, AI connector.
- Each person opens Settings, AI connector in Ithil and selects Allow my AI assistant.
- In the assistant, add a custom connector with this URL, and sign in with your normal Ithil sign in.
https://api.ithil.ai/mcp
Where to add the connector in each assistant. Vendor screens change, so check the vendor's own help if a menu looks different.
- Claude. Open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector.
- ChatGPT. Open Settings, then Apps. Turn on developer mode and add a connector with the URL.
- Microsoft Copilot Studio, Gemini Enterprise, Cursor and VS Code. Add a remote MCP server with the URL.
- Grok. Go to grok.com/connectors, choose New Connector, then Custom.
What it can and cannot do
It is read only. It cannot create, edit or delete anything in Ithil.
Every request uses the signed in person's own role and permissions. The assistant sees only what that person could open in Ithil.
Every tool call is recorded in your organization's audit log. The record holds the tool name, the outcome, the duration and which assistant made the call. It never holds the question or the answer.
Turning it off
A person can revoke their own connection in Settings, AI connector. An Admin can revoke anyone's connection, or switch the connector off for the whole organization. Removing a person from the organization also revokes their connection.
A revoked connection is refused on the next request.
IP allow lists
If your organization restricts sign in by IP address, you must also allow your assistant vendor's egress range. For Claude the range is 160.79.104.0/21.
