Text Message Alerts
Last updated: September 2026
The program
Ithil, Inc. operates one text messaging program, called Ithil Alerts. It sends critical infrastructure alerts to staff at customer organizations who have asked to receive them: a pump station losing communications, a generator dropping below its fuel threshold, a water quality reading outside its regulatory limit.
Only alerts classified as critical are sent by text. Routine notifications are delivered by email and in the application. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages of any kind, and this number is never used for anything else.
The number messages come from
All messages are sent from +1 (888) 887-4821. If you receive a message claiming to be from Ithil from any other number, it is not from us, and we would be glad to hear about it at contact@ithil.ai.
How you opt in
Consent is given by the person who owns the handset, in the Ithil web application, under Settings, then Notifications. There are three steps, and all three are required.
First you enter your own mobile number. Second you tick a box that reads: “I agree to receive critical infrastructure alert text messages from Ithil at the number above, sent from +1 (888) 887-4821.” Third you enter a six digit code we text to that number, which proves the handset is yours.
The consent box is optional and starts unticked. You can verify a number without agreeing to the alerts, and you can use every part of Ithil without providing a number at all. No feature, account, or purchase depends on agreeing to receive text messages. An administrator cannot enter a number or give consent on your behalf.
Once you have opted in, the first message you receive confirms the program name, that messages recur, how often, that rates may apply, and how to stop them.
What the opt-in screen looks like
This is the screen where consent is given, exactly as it appears in the application.

Frequency and cost
Message frequency varies, because it depends on the alerts your organization's own equipment generates. Ithil does not charge for these messages. Message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier, according to your own plan.
How to stop
Reply STOP to any message to stop them immediately. END, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL and QUIT work the same way, and capitalization and punctuation do not matter. You will receive one confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and nothing after that.
You can also remove your number entirely in Settings, then Notifications, which deletes it, or write to us at contact@ithil.ai and ask us to.
Help
Reply HELP to any message, or write to contact@ithil.ai. Carrier support is not available for this program; we answer directly.
Privacy
We store your mobile number, the date it was verified, and the date and network address from which consent was given, so we can show how and when permission was granted. Delivery is carried out by Twilio acting on our behalf, and mobile carriers handle the message in transit. We do not sell phone numbers and we do not share them with anyone else. Our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
